There is no universally defined time frame for sleep deprivation. However, typical levels of sleep deprivation are determined by the number of hours of sleep you miss. Symptoms of sleep deprivation tend to get worse with each level. Here’s what can happen to your body during sleep deprivation:
Level 1 : 24 hours of sleep deprivation
It’s normal to go 24 hours without any significant health problems, but you may feel tired and bored. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 24 hours of sleep deprivation is equivalent to having a blood alcohol level of 0.01 percent, which is above the legal driving limit. 24 hours of sleep deprivation can cause:

After four days of sleep deprivation, your perception of reality becomes so distorted that you can no longer stand the urge to sleep. If you are so sleep deprived that you can’t distinguish reality, this is called ” sleep deprivation psychosis. “ Sleep deprivation usually goes away when you get enough sleep.
